Joint Industry Projects (JIP) in the
energy and chemical industry

EWI has a tradition of conducting Joint Industry Projects (JIPs) or Group Sponsored Projects (GSPs). These projects have been focused on the welding and allied technologies for the member companies. The projects have widely ranged from process development to material evaluation. A recently concluded JIP/GSP was to proving the deployment of Laser Hybrid process for pipe welding conditions. Eleven oil and gas companies participated in that JIP.
