Notably, The DoD has come to rely on EWI research to reduce the risks associated with innovation while providing significant improvements in the performance, quality, productivity, life-cycle cost, and availability of government aircraft, ships, weapons and advanced electronics.

As part of its service to the governement sector, EWI operates
The Navy Joining Center (NJC), a Navy ManTech Center of Excellence. NJC’s mission is to develop, deploy and disseminate emerging materials joining technologies to support the U.S. Navy and sustain and improve its resources.

EWI has the proven ability to identify industrial needs and integrate them with government program objectives. EWI also has financial and program management experience with a variety of contracting mechanisms. This assures effective performance on schedule and budget as well as technical excellence.
